Easter Sunday - March 31st (8:30 - 10am)
Will you be in town? If we have enough Scouts, the Church would like us to make a pancake breakfast before the service on Easter. Parents are needed Easter Sunday from 7:30am-9am for cooking then supervise the serving of the meal. We also need to know if you are available to march in the Blossom time parade. Everyone, fill out the form below to let us know if you are available for either/both/none of these events.
Cook for Concerts?
The church is planning on concerts for the following dates and wondered if Scouts would be interested in selling hot dogs and brats at any of the concerts. All concerts are on Friday night at 7 p.m.

Philmont - The Trek assignments are out! - 6/18/2024 Through 6/25/2024
Our two crews will be doing a Strenuous course (#7-11) in the north country part of Philmont in some cool new topographies and activities, and a Rugged course (#7-7) in central Philmont that ends with a hike into base camp. Both Treks include too many activities and sight highlights to list, and our crews need to get ready! They have shakedown trips tentatively on the calendar - please keep up with your Philmont Crew leaders. We do have space to add additional hikers if there is anyone out there still interested - contact Brett Bacon or Orrin Lorenz. Please let Blake know your preferred shirt color.
More weekend practice hikes will happen in the Spring. Until then, there will be day hikes, and as a crew we need to complete trek selections. Trek discussions will be happening at Monday night meetings - if you can't attend a meet be sure to ask others what was discussed!
We are going to Philmont 6/18/2024-6/25/2024 with travel before and after these dates. The cost per Scout is $1235 not including travel and hotel costs. The first deposit deadline is $150 by Jan. 23, 2023. 2 adults and at least 6 Scouts are needed by this date. There is a max group size of 12. Scouts must be 14 OR completed 8th grade and at least 13 prior to participation.

Homework: Every scout should at least read the Shakedown Guide Part 1 and Part 2 from this web site: https://www.philmontscoutranch.org/philmont-prep-seminars/
Several of the videos are very good too.

Mackinac committee has published their best guess at dates for 2024 so troops and families can be planning ahead. Mackinac Camp is an outstanding opportunity for meaningful service, leadership development, and a fun time on Mackinac Island for a week.
